PUBLIC TRANSPORT IN VIENNA

If you choose to get to your hotel by public transport, the easiest way is first to board the CAT (City Airport Train), which brings you directly into the city centre, leaving every 30 minutes from the airport.

Once you arrive at Wien Mitte/Landstrasse you have easy access to the Viennese underground system.

If you would like to plan your journey within Vienna in advance, you can fill in a form with the relevant data (departure from Wien Mitte/Landstrasse, arrival at your hotel's address) at the following link: Vienna Public Transport.

The congress venue can be reached by the underground line U1 (red line, direction Leopoldau). Get off at Kaisermühlen/Vienna International Centre and take the exit marked Schüttaustrasse.

HOW IS THE WEATHER IN VIENNA?

Light jacket or warm overcoat and boots? Umbrella or sunglasses? Please bear in mind that in Vienna during March it is still winter! Right now the temperature is between 5 and 10 degrees, quite mild for the season, with a chance of rain.

Have a look at Austria's official weather forecast website to facilitate your planning.

ECR RESIDENTS AND STUDENTS LOUNGE

Relax in the brand new Residents and Students Lounge at ECR 2009!

Residents and students comprise a growing proportion of ECR delegates, which is something the ESR is very keen to encourage! So as a gesture to the future leaders of our departments, hospitals and societies, we have created the Residents and Students Lounge especially for them at ECR 2009.

The ECR Residents & Students Lounge provides a place to relax and network while enjoying free refreshments. The lounge is located on the right hand side of the first floor and is open Friday through Monday from 8am to 6pm and Tuesday from 8am to 12am. Relax with your colleagues, enjoy free drinks, fruit and music, and pick up your free lunch voucher.
